Empirical Analysis of Multiple-Criteria Decision-Making (Mcdm) Process for Freight Transportation Mode Selection

In Ghana, freight transport is growing continuously every year due to its location and business processes. However, road carries 86% of despite numerous negative impacts. Hence, the government has invested in rail transport, with 70% capacity for her busy corridor (eastern regions Ghana). Thus, awareness criteria considered when deciding on becomes vital. this study aims improve understanding factors mode selection Ghana from decision-making process by identifying that affect their decisions transportation. The combination Fuzzy AHP Topsis used find weights suggest suitable alternatives decision-makers Eastern Ghana. result shows consider selecting are prioritized other Transport cost (0.6544), Time (0.2562), reliability, flexibility (0.0605), security, Risk damage lose (0.0287). Additionally, mode(s) transportation stated owned truck carrier compared railroad, road-barge, Contracted Carrier, thus, descending order. results provide organizations prioritize these select mode.
